Bio
Patrick Shannon, the new and upcoming "Irish" merengue star was born and raised in
New York City. Throughout his elementary and Jr. high education, Patrick was a participant in
the school choir. In high school he purchased a drum set, and quickly taught himself to play.
Thereafter he began to play with different rack & roll and heavy metal bands. In this particular
era Patrick began to develop an immense passion for music.

After recording and touring
with many local bands,
Patrick enlisted in the United
States Marine Corps.
Following his tour of duty, he
returned to Brooklyn where
he was exposed to Latin
music for the first time, and it
was there that he developed
a strong desire for
involvement in Latin music.
Jose "El Canario" Alberto, Louis Damon, Patrick Shannon, and the great Johnny Pacheco
As his love for Latin music grew, so did his
personal need to speak and understand the
Spanish language. Ambitious and self-motivated
he began to immerse himself in the vast Latin
culture of New York City. He consistently
listened to Latin radio stations and watched Latin
television programs. He bought a CD with all
Spanish lyrics and spent hours upon hours
listening to lyrics and perfecting his accent. When
he felt he was ready, he made a demo, which
resulted in his participation in various merengue
bands, and ultimately became a lead singer.

As his self-assurance grew, Patrick felt a
need to accomplish his personal goal as a
solo artist. At this point he began to
record his self-titled debut album,
"PATRICK SHANNON". Four songs of
the album were recorded on location in
the Dominican Republic. His first single,
"
Estas Enamoranda" was a very popular
radio hit in the 70's; this version was
musically arranged by Andrio Tavarez,
Patrick's music director.

and a mere two days later Patrick
learned the lyrics and recorded the
